Today the reports of rakeback being received in former US Full Tilt Poker players’ accounts started appearing in multiple threads on 2+2. Additional funds that seem to be converted tournament tickets are also being reported in players’ accounts.
No announcement regarding rakeback has been released by FTP thus far and there is still no word on when US players will be able to withdraw their funds from the site.
Reports of FTP deposits and withdrawals going months without being reconciled have been common over the past few years. These delays could be indicative of the accounting hurdles that have been rumored to be at the root of the cash out delays for FTP. The processing of rakeback could be the first step in paying US players.
As the World Series of Poker (WSOP) draws near the pressure mounts as many players are relying on the funds tied up on FTP for their WSOP buy-ins. The fallout from the delay of payment could reach the boiling point for players that are sidelined due to cash flow issues, as they watch FTP pros participate. At that point it will definitely not be “business as usual.”
