- The decision will come as a blow to UK politicians who had hoped that the new UK laws would result in a repatriation of businesses after the 2005 Gambling Act drove them offshore in order to avoid a 15% gaming tax on their worldwide operations.
Bet365 has taken an unexpected decision to move its online gambling operations from its headquarters in the UK to Gibraltar.
“As part of the reorganisation, Bet365 is augmenting its existing presence in Gibraltar, a jurisdiction that offers a mature and stable environment for international remote gambling operators,” explained a company statement.
