On the heels of its recent strategic alliance with online poker training website Ivey League, Global Poker Index announced another pair of new partnerships aimed at expanding the GPI and The Hendon Mob brands.
In order to bring greater distribution to its poker content, the poker player ranking website has aligned itself with the publisher of PokerPlayer and American PokerPlayer magazine.
The deal is set to expand the content provided beyond the already published GPI rankings and into content that, according to the press release, “celebrates the success of poker players from around the world.”
“I’m very happy to extend our relationship with PokerPlayer and allow both companies to increase their reach in the global poker market. PokerPlayer is the best magazine in the UK so it makes sense for us to develop new initiatives like this,” said Global Poker Index CEO Alex Dreyfus.
In addition to in-magazine content, GPI will also be distributed though PokerPlayers online and social media presence.
Aria Resort and Casino Leaderboard
At the same time, GPI has announced that the popular Aria Resort and Casino’s Poker Room in Las Vegas will be utilizing the GPI branded leaderboard to track the performance of players in the Aria’s daily tournaments.
The poker room will be using the same formula used to track the performance of the biggest name players in the world in an effort to recognize and reward the best players at the Aria.
Adam Altwies, Aria’s Director of Poker Operations, stated that they elected to partner with the GPI as he feels the player base at the Aria “deserve[s] to be exposed and recognized.”
He continued on to say that “The GPI formula will allow the best players and not the richest to be rewarded, and that’s exactly what we were looking for.”
The pair of announcements are the latest in a long list of partnerships struck by GPI CEO Alex Dreyfus to standardize poker ranking throughout the global community.
Since the beginning of 2014, GPI has partnered with Ivey League, the Aviation Club de France in Paris, Casino Barcelona in Spain, the DeepStacks Poker Tour, CardPlayer Latin America, and the Ante Up Poker Tour.
