Ohio sports betting apps generated just short of a $1.1 billion handle in January, the first month with legal regulated online sports betting, according to data from the state regulator.
Sixteen online operators combined for a handle of $1,090,265,212, the Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) reported last week. That was less than the $1.8 billion handle reported in New York but more than handle generated in New Jersey ($1 billion) and Pennsylvania ($719.7 million).
Revenue topped $200 million in January, with all but one operator reporting revenue for the month (MVG Bet reported a small loss on $200k in handle). Officially, revenue totaled $205,694,761, according to OCCC.
