Regulators in Colorado appear to be preparing to ban prop-style daily fantasy sports (DFS) operators from doing business in the state — following the lead of their counterparts in Michigan and New York.

The Colorado Division of Gaming (CDOG) held a rule-making hearing to discuss the proposed changes on Monday. The regulator said it heard public comments at the meeting and would continue to accept them through 5pm MDT on Friday.

CDOG will hold its next monthly meeting on November 16. It’s possible that the regulator will enact the changes — which were first discussed at a workshop on September 1 — either at that meeting or at a subsequent one.

“The division is proposing extensive changes to the Fantasy Contest Operator Rules,” CDOG said in a statement. “These changes will bring the Fantasy Contest Operator Rules into better alignment with Gaming and Sports Betting Rules and will clarify the rights and responsibilities of Fantasy Contest Operators and patrons.”
