- Spain’s Codere Foundation has published a comprehensive report of the Spanish gambling industry which shows that total betting has fallen 27% in five years.
- The report estimates total 2012 profits from gambling at €434.8m including those made by unlicensed operators.
- The report describes the Spanish gambling industry as “complex and over-regulated.”
- Betting in land based casinos, measured by chips changed, has declined from €2.55bn in 2007 to €1.49bn in 2012.
Spain’s Codere Foundation has published a comprehensive report of the Spanish gambling industry which shows that total betting has fallen 27% in five years.
The foundation is financed by gaming company Codere, who produced the report together with the Institute for Policy and Governance at the Carlos III University (IPOLGOB).
