- The UK Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Bill has received its first line by line examination in committee in the House of Lords.
- The bill will require all online poker—and other gambling—operators with UK resident customers to be licensed by the UK Gambling Commission.
- The new laws and licensing regime are expected to be implemented in full before the end of 2014.
The UK Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Bill has received its first line-by-line examination in committee in the House of Lords. Following a report stage it will receive a third and final reading in the UK’s upper chamber before final consideration of any amendments and the Royal Assent which will finally enact it in law.
