The WSOP PA Fall Championships is underway, with dozens of big guaranteed tournaments scheduled over the next two weeks—and if the first events are anything to go by, players can expect some significant value in the form of huge overlays in many of these events.
October is a monster month for the World Series of Poker (WSOP), with live games running in Las Vegas, and online bracelets being handed out every Sunday to WSOP NJ and WSOP Nevada players.
But Pennsylvania online poker players have not been left out in the cold. The Fall Online Championship offers more than $1 million in guarantees from October 10 through October 26.
This is a mammoth amount for such a new online poker room, and indeed it looks like there is significant value on offer for players with huge massive overlays on tournaments so far. Every event on the opening Sunday missing their guarantees by very wide margins, meaning huge value for all players who participated.
Given the ambitious remaining schedule, it seems very likely that overlays will continue for the next two weeks of action.

The series comes as part of a very busy period for WSOP PA. Having only come online in July, it immediately leaped into a bracelet series that awarded eight bracelets in that state for the very first time. There will also be one more online bracelet in the state next month.
The segregated PA player pool was left out of the regular Sunday bracelet games for NJ/NV players. The operator is making up for it with a massive series guaranteeing $1,035,166 across 67 events.
The series is very accessible with an average buy-in of $68. Players who want to run the tables in this series will need to dig up less than $5,000. In fact, $4,537 will be enough to get a player a seat in every game in the series.

Slow Start on Opening Night
So far, the series has had a slow start. Four opening day events were played on Oct 10 and another four on Oct 11, and only two managed to hit the guarantee. Opening day guarantees are often optimistic, but the six games fell well short: Of more than $175,000 in promised prizes, it collected less than $100,000 of that in entry fees.
Out of four events completed on the opening night, not a single one came close to its guarantee. In fact, the best result, coming in $20 Turbo Deepstack, couldn’t even manage to make 60% of its guarantee.
That game guaranteed $10,000, but the 319 entries only managed to pay $5,806 in total, leaving a 52% overlay on the promised prizes. That was the best game of the night as well.

There was nearly $80,000 in value paid on the first two nights of the series alone. It is worth noting that the first day featured one of the highest value games of the series, with $22,222 guaranteed in the first event for a buy-in of just $11.
Other guarantees on the opening night were equally optimistic, with $75,000 guaranteed for the Sunday Special, and $35,000 in total promised in the Sunday 6-Max. It is likely the operator knew going in that the promises on day 1 were high, but WSOP PA likely expected to get a little closer to some of the guarantees.
The second night of the series went a bit better, with two of four games hitting their guarantees. There is a Warmup game every night of the festival but with a reduced guarantee every night but Sunday.
The lower $3,000 guarantee proved no problem on the second night, with the Warmup busting the guarantee by almost 35%. The PKO game that closed out the second night also found more entries than it needed, coming in with almost $500 extra in the prize pool over the $3,000 guarantee.

Upcoming Highlight Events
Given the opening night overlays, the upcoming series looks to have a lot of value for players. Even without the opening day results, there are several games that look particularly juicy.
Among them is one of the games that overlayed heavily on the starting day of the festival. There is a $22,222 guaranteed Warmup event every Sunday, and with a buy-in of just $11, there is a lot of potential value on offer to start Sunday evenings.

The Sunday Warmup games are by far the highest value games of the series, but there is some value in higher-priced games as well. There are two $100 games in the series with $75,000 guaranteed.
The first $75,000 game was completed on October 10th, and there was a lot of overlay value for players. The 402 entries didn’t quite make 50% of the guarantee, leaving almost $40,000 of overlay in the prize pool. The next chance at that value comes in the Player Appreciation Tournament on October 17.
Check out the full schedule below to plan how to get in on some of that added money—it looks like there may be a lot of overlay for players of all bankroll sizes.
