The idea behind the WCOOP Boot Camp is to help players enter the world’s biggest online tournament series in the best form of their lives, and this includes preparations both on and off the felt.

Whether you are planning to play in this year’s WCOOP or not, the WCOOP Boot Camp will be a unique opportunity to learn for free from some of the best players in the game and play for millions in prize money in events with affordable buyins and competitive player pools.

Millions to Play for in WCOOP Boot Camp

The inaugural WCOOP Boot Camp will be split into two buyin brackets, Low and High, simulating the WCOOP, which traditionally features three buyin levels for each event.

The mini-series will feature a total of 80 events in each bracket, for a grand total of 160, with millions up for grabs for players playing in the lower and the higher buyin bracket alike.

The WCOOP Boot Camp will open on August 4 with the $11 and $109 Boot Camp Opener events, which will feature $40k and $75k in guarantees respectively.

From there, the festival will keep going with over a dozen events on the schedule each day until August 19, with buyins ranging from as low as $2.20 to as high as $5,200.

The Boot Camp will culminate in Event #72, the WCOOP Boot Camp Main Event, which will feature a $109 buyin in the Low and $1,050 buyin in the High buyin bracket, while offering $1 million and $400k in guarantees respectively.

Along with these, the series will feature all popular tournament formats like PKO, Mystery Bounty, 6-Max, and more. This will provide players with a little glimpse into what it means to grind out the hefty WCOOP schedule like their favorite pros do every year.

By the end, WCOOP Boot Camp will give out millions in cash prizes, while also jump-starting many bankrolls in time for the main festivities that start in early September.

Learn from BBZ Pros in Daily Training Sessions

While the WCOOP Boot Camp may seem like just another tournament series from the outside, its main objective is to give players with less experience in big tournament festivals a chance to build up their bankrolls and their poker skills along the way.

Getting ready for the WCOOP is no easy feat, so PokerStars enlisted the help of BBZ Poker, a leading poker coaching platform, whose coaches will be offering all Boot Camp recruits free training sessions each day from August 3 to 9.

In order to join the coaching classes, all you need to do is head over to BBZ Poker’s Discord channel and open up the POKERSTARS BOOTCAMP sub-channel, where you will find links to the Zoom meetings where coaching sessions will take place.

If you happen to miss some of the sessions or join too late in the show, don’t worry, as full recordings of each session will be made available for you to watch at any time.

The daily coaching sessions will focus on the next day’s tournament formats and teaching players how to play PKO, Mystery Bounty, and other tournament types that are becoming more and more popular these days.

The best thing about it all is that you don’t have to play in the Boot Camp events every day, or at all if you so choose, to get the free coaching. The sessions will be available via BBZ Discord daily and open to anyone who wants to learn more about tournament poker.

Win a WCOOP Gold Pass through Boot Camp Leaderboard

Once again emphasizing the focus of the WCOOP Boot Camp, PokerStars is awarding extra prizes via a unique leaderboard to players who play in the Low bracket of the series.

A total of 100 players will get extra value from the leaderboard, with the top six performers at the Boot Camp receiving a coveted WCOOP Power Path Gold Pass bundle worth $10,300, offering access to multiple high-stakes WCOOP events. On top of that the six players will get to play in the WCOOP League, alongside some of the biggest names in poker like Lex Veldhuis and Ben Spragg.

Players who finish between 7th and 20th position on the leaderboard will receive WCOOP Power Path Silver Passes worth $2,500, while those between 21st and 100th place will get free $109 Sunday Million tickets for their efforts.

In total, more than $100,000 will be given away to the top 100 finishers on the WCOOP Boot Camp leaderboard, and only events played in the Low buyin bracket will count, making it a unique opportunity for lower stakes grinders to show off their skills and get rewarded for it.

PokerStars WCOOP League Is Here

Inspired by the success of the SCOOP League, which took place alongside this year’s SCOOP, PokerStars will be hosting the first-ever WCOOP League will take place this fall.

The WCOOP League will see PokerStars Ambassadors Lex Veldhuis, Ben Spragg, Parker Talbot, and Fintan Hand, along with two others, select members for their teams. The six teams will then compete to outperform each other at this year’s WCOOP, with valuable prizes up for grabs in the end.

This time around, each of the team captains will have to pick one of the top WCOOP Boot Camp leaderboard finishers to compete on their team, adding another reason to join the Boot Camp and grind hard for a spot in the top six.
