Valuable NAPT Trophy Up for Grabs in NAPT Main Event
Last year’s NAPT Main Event featured a $1,650 buyin and a $1,500,000 guarantee, making it a more affordable event for the wider poker masses, as PokerStars looked to re-introduce the tour.
This time around, the buyin has gone up significantly to $5,300, but the guaranteed prize pool of $3,000,000 means the organizers are confident they can bring together s huge playing field even at this price point.
The variety of NAPT qualifiers (online and live) being run in the months leading up to the event will surely add to the overall attendance, while plenty of Las Vegas locals and poker enthusiasts from all parts of the world will be looking to make the trip and compete for the coveted NAPT title.
Action in the Main Event starts on November 5, with a total of three Day 1 flights scheduled for the first two days of the tournament.
Day 1a and 1b will feature 60-minute levels and plenty of play, akin to other high-stakes poker tours, while Day 1c will be a turbo flight with 30-minute levels for players looking for a last minute spot in Day 2.
The tournament will transition to 90-minute levels as Day 2 action starts on November 7, while the final table will play out on the final day of the festival, November 9.
A total of 1,095 players entered the NAPT Las Vegas Main Event last year, and while the interest for the event is quite high, the increased buyin will probably prevent that number from being shattered in 2024.
Nevertheless, PokerStars and Resorts World seem fairly confident that the overall attendance will be significant, as the $3,000,000 guarantee on the event ensures everyone who makes the trip will be playing for significant prizes.
