PokerStars US has announced a new promotion, the “Chasin’ Jason Freeroll,” to celebrate the addition of poker legend Jason Koon to its ambassador roster.
The promotion features two freerolls exclusively for US poker players, offering a chance to win a coveted Gold Pass valued at $12,000, granting entry to the prestigious EPT Monte Carlo 2025.
The freerolls are scheduled for this week and are open to players in New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. PokerStars PA players can participate this Friday, December 20, while players in the shared pool of PokerStars MI and PokerStars NJ have their freeroll on Saturday, December 21. Registration for these freerolls opens 24 hours before the start time.
No such freeroll has been scheduled for PokerStars Ontario online poker players.

The freeroll offers more than just a chance to win a package to the 2025 EPT Monte Carlo, scheduled from April 30 to May 15. Players can also compete for a share of $10,000 in cash prizes, bringing the total value of each freeroll to over $22,000.
While the freeroll is open to all eligible players, there is a twist: to claim the coveted Gold Pass, players must eliminate Jason Koon during the event. Knocking him out secures the Gold Pass, valued at $12,000, which includes:
- Buy-in to the 2025 EPT Monte-Carlo Main Event (€5300)
- Accommodation
- Travel and $2000 in cash, instantly credited to the player who eliminates Koon
In addition to the Gold Pass, the player who takes out Koon will receive a Meet & Greet with him in Monte Carlo. Plus, the freeoll will offer $10,000 in cash prizes.

Jason Koon, a West Virginia native, is celebrated as one of the most accomplished and successful poker players of all time, boasting over $58 million in tournament earnings and holding the fourth spot on the all-time money list, according to The Hendon Mob.
He was appointed by PokerStars to represent their USA team roster along with award-winning content creator and comedian Caitlin Comeskey back in November.
“I’m excited to celebrate my new partnership with PokerStars in the best way possible — at the tables,” Koon said in the press release. “But don’t think I’ll go easy on anyone. If you want the Gold Pass, you’ll have to earn it by taking me out. Game on!”
PokerStars describes the freeroll as “just the beginning of an exciting partnership with Jason Koon.” The operator hints at more events, activations, and chances for players to engage with one of poker’s all-time greats in the future.
Holiday Promos at PokerStars USA & Ontario
For those eager to dive into the action before the freeroll, PokerStars is running its festive 25 Days of Poker Madness promotion, available to players in the USA and PokerStars Ontario platform.
Running through December 30, the promotion features daily $25 buy-in tournaments with added prizes, special daily and weekly freerolls, and random chest drops in participating events. Adding an element of surprise, the format, guaranteed prize pool, and prizes for each tournament are revealed just before they begin.
