PokerStars North American Poker Tour Confirmed for 2025 PokerStars North American Poker Tour Confirmed for 2025
PokerStars - Rachel Kay Winter

PokerStars has exclusively confirmed to pokerfuse that the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) will return to Las Vegas this year, marking the third consecutive year it will run.

The dates have not been announced, but it has been confirmed that the tour will run roughly at the same time as last year. This means players should expect the NAPT to take place in early November. It is highly likely that the NAPT will once again run over a 10-day period.

Buy-ins at the NAPT typically range from $250 to $25,000 — which will be expected for 2025. Online qualifiers will also run on PokerStars US and PokerStars Ontario, as seen in previous editions. The Main Event, NAPT Cup, High Roller, Super High Roller and Mystery Bounty tournaments are all expected to return.

“[We] absolutely plan to bring back NAPT to Las Vegas and make this a regular part of the poker stars live event calendar,” Steve Preiss VP of PokerStars North America told pokerfuse. “We are planning to provide more regional events in the Northeast where our players actually play online and tying into live events at properties in those states in the Northeast,” Preiss added.

Regional Events in North America

Per Preiss’ comments, more live events in the Northeast of North America will take place in 2025. These events will take place in areas where there is also a PokerStars online presence, which includes New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ontario.

Last year, PokerStars held NAPT regional events in Philadelphia and Maryland for the first time, which gave winners packages to the NAPT as part of their Gold Pass promotion. This was a resounding success in 2024: 115 players got sent to the NAPT with a Gold Pass that went on to play in the NAPT Main Event. Of these, 115, 20 made it into the money, walking away with $240,600 in total prizes.

Gold pass packages to the NAPT comprise of main event buy-in, hotel accommodation for the duration of the tour along with a travel and expenses stipend. These packages are valued up to $10,000.

For now, we can assume Philadelphia will be a key location for 2025, as Preiss praised their partnership with Philly Live! calling them a “great partner” and that their combined live events would definitely continue for this year.

Preiss also alluded to a live stop coming to Ontario. He said PokerStars would like to run small regional events that grow into something resembling the NAPT with definite “expansion into Ontario” — which would be a very exciting development for players in Canada. And the tie in with PokerStars Ontario online site will be paramount.

It is actually very rare for the online poker operator to run a live event in a state where there is no companion of online poker — the NAPT running in Nevada is an exception.

For example, the much loved and iconic European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague stop may not run this year, due to PokerStars having pulled out of the Czech market. If EPT Prague does not run this year it will come as a blow to fans of the brand, but it would be in line with PokerStars’ ethos of live and online event pairings.

Customer First Ethos

PokerStars is known for running world-class live events, aiming to elevate the experience by putting customers first and listening to feedback. One such way they have done this recently is by creating a tournament specifically designed for players that traditionally haven’t seen their game of choice represented at live festivals. At the EPT Prague last year, PokerStars debut their Live Spin & Go Championship, a highly anticipated live version of the immensely popular online poker format, Spin & Go — which ran to great success.

Getting face time with their customers in North American markets where online poker is also available will be a priority in 2025.

“We want to interact with our customers. We love being able to openly engage with them on feedback on everything from product to promotions to just get an understanding of what’s important to them and how we can be a better company based on that,” Preiss concluded.

PokerStars Live Stop 2025

PokerStars has already unveiled a lot of its European and South American live stops for 2025. There will be six stops under the Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP) brand and two EPT flagship events taking place in Europe, in Monte Carlo and Barcelona. A new series of regional live stops under the new PokerStars Open brand is also taking place across Europe in 2025.
