Partypoker New Jersey has published the draft schedule of the second annual New Jersey Championship of Online Poker which will run from April 16 to April 26. The $600k guaranteed for the 15 events of the first NJCOP has been substantially upped to $1 million and the number of events is increasing to 32.
Feedback requests on the proposed schedule were posted on the poker forums ant Two Plus Two and PocketFives. Players from New Jersey and surrounding states where players may travel from to play the series were asked to chime in on the “timing, events, buy-ins, format, structure, etc.”
The Main Event on April 26 offers a $150k guarantee, and there is a Super Bounty High Roller with a $500 buy-in, but the highest buy-in goes to the $75k guaranteed Slow event which costs $1,000 to enter.
The first NJCOP had a few teething problems, but was a great success for partypoker and Borgata Poker at an early stage in the New Jersey market. The controversy that arose over the High Roller event which paid only two places is almost guaranteed not to be repeated.
As was the case last year, the program includes events chosen by the players. Events #1 and #20 are the Players’ Choice Events this year, and players can express their preference for the format by responding to threads on the subject in various online poker forums.
A conservative choice was made by players for the first NJCOP—Event #9, chosen by poll was determined to be a 6-Max No Limit Hold’em Event, which received over half of the votes cast.
Players that plan on being in the state can sign up for an account at either partypoker NJ or Borgata Poker.
