Caesars has announced that the refurbishment of Ballys Wild Wild West casino in Atlantic City will include a World Series of Poker (WSOP} themed poker room.
Free wifi will allow players to access online poker from within the poker room, which will have tournament tables and 42 cash game tables, some in a special “high limit” room. The space will be expandable to provide 80 tables for specific live poker events.
Kevin Ortzman, the Senior VP and GM for Ballys, said: “with these latest additions the property can now lay claim to a top-notch poker room. We believe this development will forever evolve the face of poker in Atlantic City and expand our ability to provide guests with the highest quality of gaming and live entertainment opportunities available.”
He went on to say that the WSOP Tournament of Champions circuit event in May would definitely take place in the new facility and that there were plans for other events to follow.
The former poker room was on the 6th floor of the casino, but the new room will be directly accessible by a walkway from the main foyer without players having to pass through the main casino. Caesars VP, Freddie Niceta, said, “players like convenience. They don’t want to have to walk very far.”
The poker room will promote WSOP.com, the company’s online poker room, in the same way that PokerStars has used its PokerStars Live rooms, such as the ones in Macau and London, to promote the online brand.
