Global Poker Index (GPI) announced Thursday that it will be launching and distributing its first free US magazine during the 2014 World Series of Poker.
The company’s CEO Alex Dreyfus stated Thursday that GPI will be an official partner of the WSOP and will have a booth available on the Rio premises to answer questions and spread awareness.
“Global Poker Index is launching its first free US magazine, distributed at the Rio during the entirety of the WSOP, as well as other Las Vegas hot spots including the Bellagio, Aria,Venetian, Wynn, and Golden Nugget beginning June 1,” Dreyfus said.
“This is our first full-scale foray outside of the digital,” Dreyfus added. “We couldn’t be happier to take this step and keep our growing momentum going in time for the 2014 WSOP.”
GPI provides global rankings for live poker tournament players and is among the most widely recognized poker tournament rankings systems in the world.
“Poker’s Leading Lady”
The free magazine features PokerStars’ sponsored pro player Vanessa Selbst on its cover and provides an in-depth feature story on “poker’s leading lady” and her plans for the WSOP.
Other content will include a Top 1,500 GPI US Rankings list, a Las Vegas Survival Guide, the latest from Fantasy Poker Manager as well as a comprehensive rundown of live tournaments that will be taking place throughout Sin City during the WSOP.
The 2014 WSOP begins Tuesday, May 27, and will span a total of seven weeks, concluding with the $10,000 NLHE Main Event (which has a guaranteed payout of $10,000,000 to the eventual winner). The final nine players of the Main Event will return in November to decide the next world champion.
