888poker’s Millions Superstorm promotion has entered its second week. Throughout the first two marquee events, the site suffered an overlay and provided additional value for the players. The same can also be expected for the remaining four flagship events, two of which will take place this weekend.
Among the upcoming events is also the highly anticipated $1,050 Main Event with a $1 million guarantee, which is slated to host another starting day this Sunday, February 27. Players can win a seat in Side Events or take a shot at the other two marquee events, which feature buy-ins of $215 and $33 respectively.
The promotion is 888poker’s second major online poker festival in 2022 after successfully hosting the XL Winter Series in January. It also runs for the second time in the form of a tournament series and a third time overall as a promotional campaign.
In comparison to the previous edition, the overall schedule was slimmed down significantly and contains six flagship tournaments and daily PKO tournaments with more than $2 million in guarantees. The lion’s share of that will be distributed in the $1,050 Main Event, which concludes the series on March 8 with its live-streamed final table showdown.
Completed 888Millions Events
Event # | Buy-in | Guarantee | Total Entries | Gross Overlay |
---|---|---|---|---|
Event #1 | $109 | $200,000 | 1,851 | $14,900 |
Event #2 | $11 | $50,000 | 4,761 | $2,390 |
Two of the six tournaments have now been completed and both created small overlays. In the opening $109 buy-in, 1,509 unique players purchased 342 re-entries to attract a field of 1,851 entries. As a result, the tournament fell short of meeting the $200 guarantee and created an overlay worth $14,900.
A similar scenario unfolded in Event #2, which came with a bargain buy-in of $11 and a guaranteed prize pool worth $50,000. There were 3,877 unique players and 884 re-entries, which caused a minor overlay of $2,390.
Poker players on the global 888 platform can look forward to the next two Millions Superstorm Events this weekend. Both offer multiple starting days to take a shot at the six-figure guarantees and the Day 1 survivors will combine to one field on Sunday, February 27.
Remaining 888Millions Events
Event # | Buy-in | Guarantee | Day 2 | Entries So Far | Required to Cover |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Event #3 | $215 | $250,000 | 27/2 | 402 | 1,250 |
Event #4 | $33 | $100,000 | 27/2 | 1,506 | 3,334 |
Event #5 | $1,050 | $1,000,000 | 7/3 | 116 | 1,000 |
Event #6 | $55 | $150,000 | 6/3 | - | 3,000 |
In Event #3, some 327 players have qualified for Day 2 so far. However, the tournament with a price tag of $215 requires 1,163 entries to cover the $250,000 guarantee.
On the same day, Event #4 with a buy-in of $33 and a $100,000 guarantee may also trigger an overlay as well. Just over one-third of the required 3,031 entries have been attracted so far.
This upcoming Sunday will also feature another starting day for the crown jewel on the schedule, the $1,050 Main Event. With an ambitious $1 million guarantee as the headlining number, it might be a close call for the operator. However, in the previous series, the very same high stakes showdown squeezed past the seven-figure tally.
Those wishing to spend just a fraction of the $1,050 buy-in have several satellites at their disposal. Qualifiers run throughout the week with guaranteed seats in the marquee event up for grabs. Buy-ins start for as little as $27.50 and go up to $109. Depositing players also have the chance to win their entry free of charge courtesy of 888.
Running alongside the six main tournaments is a daily $15k guaranteed PKO tournament, which comes with a buy-in of $55. Satellites are available at a bargain of $0.50, $2.20, and $8.80.
The latest online poker festival is part of 888’s 20th year anniversary, which will be celebrated throughout the entire year, as previously confirmed by the operator. It has been a successful year so far in the online poker arena and on the live felt for 888 as they visited The Vic in the heart of London on two occasions during the last few weeks.
And while losing longtime ambassador Sofia Lövgren at the start of 2022, 888 signed professional boxer Chris Eubank Jr. as its new cultural ambassador. He won the first fight after signing the partnership and was then part of a special live poker festival in the English capital with a large bounty prize on his head.
888’s Millions Superstorm runs until March 8, 2022. On the last day of the series, the final table of the $1,050 Main Event will be streamed on the 888pokerTV channel on Twitch to conclude the festival.
