As online poker heads towards the busy winter season, PokerStars Ontario has introduced some new MTTs to its weekly tournament schedule to meet the new demand from real money Ontario online poker players.
Nearly a dozen tournaments have been added to the mix — all of which have been inspired by the dot-com market’s tournament schedule. These include the Fast Friday, Saturday Duel, weekend special Double Deuce, Sunday Marathon, Sunday Starter, and more.
The guarantees for these recent additions range from CAD $2,000 to CAD $10,000. With eleven new tournaments, the total prize money for the weekly schedule has increased by at least CAD $125,000.

Some notable tournaments in the new line-up include the $22 buy-in Double Deuce running during the weekend at 14:22 ET, with a guarantee of $1500. It offers 22,000 starting chips and is structured turbo-like, with blinds going up every six minutes.
Other major daily tournaments include the slow-structured Sunday Marathon with an entry fee of $50 and guaranteed prize money of $2000. It is followed by a $100 buy-in Sunday Starter boasting $3000 in prize money.
The Sunday schedule has been further enhanced by including the classic Sunday Warm-Up promising $5000 for a buy-in of $100. With the fresh additions, there are now eleven different Sunday flagship tournaments.
On Saturday, the operator added a special heads-up Saturday Duel which uses the Zoom format with the entire buy-in going to the bounty pool. It has a buy-in of $20 and guarantees $1000.
The daily editions include the Daily Kickoff — a spin-off of the Sunday Kickoff — guaranteeing $2000 for a buy-in of $100. It is scheduled to run daily at 16:05 ET from Monday to Saturday.
There is also a Daily Super High Roller at 18:05 ET costing $500 and promising $10,000 in prize money. On Sundays, the same tournament runs with a bigger guarantee. A $200 buy-in Progressive Knockout, Daily Cooldown, has been added at 21:05 ET, boasting $2500 in prize money. Another tournament with the same buy-in: Big $200 runs daily, including Sundays, guaranteeing $2800.

Last Sunday, the tournament, with its old guarantee of $35,000, drew 385 runners — surpassing its guarantee by a whisker.
Players should welcome these recent additions and boosts to the tournament guarantees. However, not just PokerStars but WSOP Ontario, BetMGM Ontario, and 888poker Ontario have also upgraded their tournament schedules.

But when comparing all four regulated networks, PokerStars Ontario has the most comprehensive tournament offerings as the platform supports non-Hold’em games, including Draw games, Mixed rotations, and Stud games.
Late last month, the operator ran a week-long Micro Stakes Bonanza tournament series featuring a wide variety of tournaments with affordable buy-ins. The series ran fresh off the back of the ONCOOP series that awarded nearly CAD $2 million over 122 completed tournaments.
The operator is almost certainly gearing up for another tournament series. Keep watching this space for fresh updates. In the meantime, grab the latest PokerStars Ontario download.
