PokerStars has launched a new promotion called Cash Races to drive traffic to its site. It replaces long-running Daily Cash Game Leaderboards with a similar leaderboard race promotion incentivizing cash game players.
The promotion kicked off on April 17 and will run through July 16, allowing players to share a prize of $22,000 every day for the next three months by simply playing at cash game tables.
The promotion is quite simple: Each time a player is dealt hole cards, they receive a point based on the value of the hole cards. For instance, Deuce carries two points, Jack holds eleven points, Queen has twelve points, King has thirteen, and Ace has fourteen points.
Playing 60 hands completes one lap. Players can complete five laps every day at each leaderboard stake. Each lap is divided into three sections (“chicanes”), and players earn boosted points in each chicane if they collect a predefined card.
The scoring system is designed to give all players an equal chance of topping the competition, whether professional or recreational.
