It’s certainly been an eventful year for WSOP US real money players. The operator has run a number of successful big series and introducing some major updates, especially in the Pennsylvania online poker and Michigan online poker markets.
With the latest software in use in these two states, WSOP ran a successful Mystery Bounty Series, followed by unique WSOP bracelet events which recently ran in both states.
Now, WSOP is running yet another tournament series, with the progressive knockout format in focus this time around. PKO Series is currently underway at both WSOP PA and WSOP MI, with a number of major events scheduled for the coming weekend.
Players that sign up to WSOP today can install the WSOP US app in time to play in the exciting PKO Series — which will very likely offer huge value to players in the form of prize pool overlays.

Overlays Across the Board in Both States
The exciting new PKO Series has been running at WSOP PA and MI since October 22, with about half of all the events already wrapped up and plenty of big ones still on the calendar, including the $40,000 Main Event with a $215 buy-in.
It is worth noting that the Series was not run in NJ and NV this year, as the operator has not yet switched those markets to the new version of their software, which means PKO events are not yet supported.
That said, those who made the time to play the early events in PA and MI were in quite a bit of luck, as the turnout for those tournaments was not quite what WSOP may have expected, with overlay recorded in nearly every tournament.
For example, the opening Event #1 featured a $215 buy-in and a $25k guarantee, but only attracted a total of 110 entries in PA, creating a significant overlay of $1350 even with all the rake entered into the calculation.
The situation was quite similar across other events in both states, with no events managing to shatter their guarantees, and overlay offered to the participants across the board.
The trend seems to be consistent, which means that if you join WSOP PA or MI today and enter some of the upcoming events, it is likely that you will be playing with dead money on the line and completely rake-free for the duration of the Series.
The final event of the PKO Series in both states offers a $40k guarantee at a $215 buy-in, and judging by the turnout thus far, we can expect significant overlay come Sunday.
More PKO Events Still on the Calendar
With just over half of all the events completed in the PKO Series, there are still six exciting tournaments left on the schedule, each of them offering a significant guarantee and a likely overlay.
Remaining events will come at prices varying from $33 to $215, with guarantees ranging from $3k to a massive $40k in the Main Event.
With three more days of spicy action, here is what events remain on the schedule and when you can play them:
Date | Event | Buy-In | Guarantee |
---|---|---|---|
Oct 27 | PKO Series Event #11 — 6-Max | $33 | $3k |
Oct 27 | PKO Series Event #12 — 6-Max | $109 | $10k |
Oct 28 | PKO Series Event #13 | $55 | $5k |
Oct 28 | PKO Series Event #14 | $215 | $15k |
Oct 29 | PKO Series Event #15 — Main Event | $215 | $40k |
Oct 29 | PKO Series Event #16 | $55 | $6k |
