WSOP PA has launched a new bingo-style board game promotion for Pennsylvania online poker players called Card Strike, offering cash game players instant prizes simply by playing.
The promotion, launched on November 12, distinguishes itself from typical short-term WSOP promotions, spanning several months and continuing until May 2024.
The game involves players matching their hole cards, played at cash game tables on a bingo-style board. Completing the board allows all participants to spin a wheel and potentially win a cash prize of up to $25,000.
A Quick Overview of Card Strike
- Open to all cash game players at WSOP PA
- Awards up to $25k in prizes
- Players must opt-in to participate in the promo
- Players must match all of their board cards within the hand limit to win a prize
- Prizes are awarded randomly and depend on table stakes
- Promotion runs until May 2024
- Up to $100 in free play with first deposit
- Fresh & modern Poker 8 software
- Play in bracelet-awarding events online
To participate, players must opt-in and sit at cash game tables. Once seated, they are presented with a puzzle board resembling a bingo grid, consisting of 16 poker cards randomly arranged. Each card on the board must match the hole cards received within a specified number of hands. Upon completing the board, players receive a randomized cash prize.
If the board is not completed within the allotted number of hands (usually 45), players receive a new card and must restart accumulating starting hands. Players also have the option to reset the board after ten hands have been dealt.
The cash prize won is instant, though it may take up to 72 hours to reflect in the player’s bankroll. Immediate bonuses have a 1x playthrough rate and are valid for 90 days.
Currently, the board game is available only on the WSOP PA platform, starting at cash game stakes of 2nl and above. It is assumed that the operator sought the necessary approvals from the state regulator to introduce the Card Strike promotion, as any new game format or type must undergo official approval before being made available.
There is a likelihood that the operator will extend the promotion to WSOP MI, catering to Michigan players, once it receives regulatory approval. Notably, the promotion has not been implemented on the WSOP NJ/NV network, which continues to operate on 888’s decade-old software, while sharing the same player pool.
WSOP MI & PA Enjoy the Benefits of 888’s Modern Software
It marks yet another instance of WSOP PA/WSOP MI utilizing 888’s modern software, a luxury yet to be experienced by players in New Jersey and Nevada. When WSOP launched in Pennsylvania and Michigan, it adopted 888’s new software, significantly departing from the classic-looking desktop and mobile apps in NJ & NV.
The new software brings a noteworthy transformation with its sleek interface and design. Additionally, it introduces support for Mystery Bounty poker, Progressive Knockouts (PKOs), Multi-flight tournaments, PLO tournaments, mobile multi-tabling, a new hand replayer, biometric login on mobile, improved graphics, portrait mode on mobile, emojis, and various other features.
The reason behind the delay in upgrading WSOP’s software in New Jersey and Nevada remains unknown. However, there is speculation that there might be some conflict or friction with their long-standing partner, 888, which has been the software supplier for WSOP for a decade.

Card Strike Could Boost WSOP PA Traffic
Card Strike’s launch can potentially boost WSOP PA’s cash game traffic. Since the promotion went live, there has been a noticeable increase, with concurrent cash game seats rising from 48 to 62, representing a nearly 30% upsurge.
As an operator, WSOP has often been the underdog since entering the market. Although WSOP PA was the only operator to witness a revenue increase in October, it experienced a decline of nearly 15% annually.
The impact of the promotion on long-term traffic remains uncertain. The Card Strike board game is scheduled to run until May 2024, providing an extended period to assess whether it will have a lasting effect on WSOP PA’s player engagement or prove to be a temporary surge.
