PokerStars Reveals Two Players for New Season of The Big Game on Tour PokerStars Reveals Two Players for New Season of The Big Game on Tour

Earlier this year, PokerStars confirmed that The Big Game on Tour will be coming back for another season, at the delight of poker fans all over the globe. Filming is set to take place in November during the North American Poker Tour stop in Las Vegas, and as the date gets closer, we are getting more information about what to expect from the new season of The Big Game on Tour.

In a recent press release, PokerStars unveiled the names of two players who’ll be taking their seats at the table together with a selection of pros, amateurs, and, of course, at least two loose cannons who’ll be selected come November.

The two players who have been confirmed for The Big Game on Tour are the NFL star Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski and a sports media personality Nick Wright. The announcement comes at the right moment as the new NFL season kicks off, and PokerStars will be running special competitions at its sister brand FanDuel to give two players a chance to become a part of the next Big Game lineup.

The Best of Two Worlds

The Big Game, which was rebranded to The Big Game on Tour, is one of the most popular poker TV shows in existence, attracting attention from hardcore poker fans and casual viewers alike.

There are two things that made the show as popular as it is. The first is, of course, the underlying concept. Every selected player, who is dubbed the “loose cannon,” is staked to play against the lineup of pros and poker-loving famous personalities. They have 150 hands to try and make a profit over the initial staked amount, and anything they make by the end of the show, they get to keep.

The second element is the lineup. So far, PokerStars has done a great job creating fun lineups with just the right mix of pros and personalities to make for a better viewing experience and attract wider audiences. Bringing “Gronk” and Nick Wright for the next season perfectly illustrates these efforts.

Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski is much better known for his sporting achievements than his success on the green felt, but in the press release announcing the news, he said he is always ready to take up new challenges, and he plans to give it his all at the table.

Wright seems equally as excited. Having loved and played poker from a young age, he described the opportunity to be a part of The Big Game and mix it up with some of the best poker players in the world and one of the biggest NFL legends of all times as a “dream come true.”

Anyone Can Become a Loose Cannon

The recently completed season of The Big Game on Tour was an exciting one, and it saw one of the two loose cannons walk away as the biggest winner. For the next season, there will be at least two loose cannon spots open, but there is a possibility of the third seat being thrown into the mix as well.

The good news is that all players are invited to take their shot at claiming one of these seats. Freeroll qualifiers will be taking place during the NAPT in Las Vegas, followed by the audition process for the winners.

If you’d like to skip the freeroll, there is currently a promotion happening at FanDuel, which will get you a direct spot in the audition. Once there, you’ll still need to convince the judges you’re the right pick for one of the loose cannon spots. On top of this, you’ll also receive the NAPT Gold Pass worth $10,000.

For everybody else, there are already many opportunities to claim your NAPT Gold Pass and more promos in the pipeline, so stay tuned and keep your ear to the ground if you want to be a part of one of the biggest poker events of the year and potentially get staked for a high-stakes cash game where you can only walk away a winner!
