The 2024 North American Poker Tour is in full swing, and the festival has attracted not only thousands of players but dozens of industry insiders and poker media representatives. So, PokerStars took this opportunity to come out with some exciting announcements and unveil some of the company plans for 2025.

During the short media event at Resorts World, the operator introduced two new ambassadors who’ll be representing the brand moving forward. The poker world will be happy to know that Caitlin Comeskey and Jason Koon are the newest members of the Red Spade family.

In the online department, PokerStars will be bringing its popular Power Path promo to the North American market, providing more opportunities for players to qualify for live events worldwide.

Comeskey and Koon New Ambassadors

To start the proceedings, two new ambassadors were officially announced. The first is Caitlin Comeskey, an avid content creator with a very unique voice, who should fit perfectly with operator’s plans in the content department.

The second name added to the PokerStars roster is that of Jason Koon, a man who needs little introduction. Koon has been a poker powerhouse for many years now, and he’s respected in the community not just for his skills at the table, but for his integrity as well.

During his short speech, Jason took a bit of a trip down memory lane, remembering how he opened his PokerStars account twenty years ago, and, before he knew it, he was on a path to becoming a professional poker player.

Black Friday was obviously big hit for all US-based players, and Koon shared he was happy to see PokerStars returning to the country in such a big way, and excited at the opportunity to be a part of something big and important for poker overall.

Bringing Power Path to North America

Following the introduction of new ambassadors, RJ Peterson, the Senior Director for Marketing for North America, took the floor to share some insights about the company’s future plans, which will revolve around three core elements: content, live events, and online experiences.

The most exciting announcement was that the popular Power Path promo will be coming to the North American market. The concept has been hugely successful on the international platform, so adding the US and PokerStars Ontario to the mix is the logical next step.

Through Power Path, players can win Power Passes to secure their seats in the most popular live and online events powered by PokerStars.

Another exciting piece of news for all North American players is that PokerStars will be introducing a new online event, Red Spade Sunday. This will be the operator’s new marquee event with the biggest guarantee, and players will be able to qualify for a seat via Power Path, starting as low as $0.50.

When it comes to live tournaments, Peterson confirmed that the NAPT will be coming back the next year, which was followed by a round of applause and shouts of approval. The festival has been a great success since its return last year, and it is encouraging to see the enthusiasm from the players.

Of course, there will is a host of PokerStars live events planned for 2025 in cities like Paris, Barcelona, Monte Carlo, and Dublin, and thanks to Power Path, players in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ontario will now be able to easily qualify for all of these events.

Players can also look forward to a fun promotional freeroll coming in the next few weeks with a bounty on Jason Koon. The lucky player who manages to take Koon’s chips will pick up a Gold Pass, so that’s definitely something to look forward to.

Big Game on Tour & Other Content Plans

The Big Game on Tour was a hugely successful project for PokerStars in 2024, and the filming for new season took place over the last couple of days, featuring a number of big-name poker players and several sports celebrities.

This indicates the direction the operator plans to take in terms of content for 2025 and beyond, creating lineups that speak to old and new fans of the game alike.

Wrapping things up, Tom Warren, the PokerStars Group Marketing Director, underlined the importance of those three key pillars for the company moving forward, but also emphasized that understanding individual markets and audiences is key to success.

He shared his excitement about Power Path coming to the American market, explaining that in his view, this is a very “democratic” proposition, as all players, regardless of their skill levels, have a fair shot at a top-tier poker experience.

To sum it all up, there are many gears currently in motion, and players in North America have a lot to look forward to as PokerStars continues to assert its position as a global leader in all things poker.
