Partypoker France is running a new turbo tournament series the week before PokerStars France runs its own Flash Series.
Partypoker’s “French Poker Championship Turbo” offers 51 events with buy-ins ranging from €1 to €50. In total €200k is guaranteed in prize money.
There is a wide variety of tournament formats— deep stack, hold’em, Omaha, heads-up, bounty and rebuy, and a €5k leadership board prize fund. A 25% reload bonus up to €100 encourages players to bankroll themselves for the events.
The series starts on February 1 and runs through February 8. French players—and players from many EU countries are also eligible to open accounts—may use the series as a training stage before the PokerStars France Flash Series IV, which kicks off on February 8 and continues until February 16.
The PokerStars Flash IV series offers fewer events, at 30, than partypoker, but there is €1,7 million guaranteed in prize money, including a €300k guaranteed Main Event, with a €25 buy in. All events start at 9pm, so there will be more than a few late nights even with the turbo format.
PokerStars Turbo Theme in All Markets
PokerStars is about to start its dot-com 2015 Turbo Championship of Online Poker (TCOOP) which runs from January 22 to February 1, and comes with a guaranteed $15,000,000.
The dot-com Main Event carries a guarantee of $2 million, but comes with a substantial $700 buy-in.
PokerStars is also following the turbo theme in its other markets.
In Italy there is a TCOOP running from February 1 to February 8, with €1.2 million guaranteed over 20 events. Spain looks to be slightly left out, but there is a regular schedule of Flash events, including a Flash Zoom tournament.
Players have voted with their feet for faster tournaments, hence the substantial guarantees turbo tournaments can now command.
