America’s Cardroom is gearing up to market its brand to US customers once again with the acquisition of fellow Yatahay skin, DoylesRoom.
One of online poker’s oldest brands, America’s Cardroom was once a skin of the defunct Dobrosoft/Gold Chip network, which then moved to the Ongame Network after Dobrosoft’s demise. Although first announcing it would continue in the US market when Ongame pulled out after the passing of the UIGEA, America’s Cardroom – no longer able to service the players that its brand was targeting – was forced offline.
Perhaps fittingly, DoylesRoom has also suffered an identity crisis of late when its namesake Doyle Brunson decided to part ways with the poker room, citing legal ramifications post-Black Friday.
According to reports, AC came back online on the Yatahay Network just weeks ago, likely in preparation for the DoylesRoom purchase. Doyle’s players are to be transitioned to their new home this Wednesday.
Yatahay, along with Cake Poker, Everleaf Gaming and Bodog, is one of the few remaining places permitting US players to sign-up and deposit. Merge Gaming Network continues to serve US players, but still does not permit new players to sign up. As with many Yatahay skins post Blue Monday, America’s Cardroom now operates on a “dot.eu” domain name.
