Lock Poker’s purchase of the Cake Poker Network and relaunch as Revolution Gaming came with a bump in rakeback from 33% to 36%. Now the new network plans to make rakeback payments every hour.
Revolution’s Shane Bridges told pokerfuse: “We have ramped it up and are going to pay it hourly.”
Revolution is moving quickly to try to differentiate itself from Merge Gaming and Bovada, the other two major networks still serving the US market. It has introduced a new player bonus of 200% on deposits up to $2k in order to attract players to the new brand.
US poker players can look forward to heated competition between these sites. Merge Gaming has already made its first response: It has relaunched rakeback for new players and set the rate at 35%. Merge switched to a VIP rewards program over a year ago and withdrew its rakeback offers. New players will now be offered rakeback and existing players can switch from the VIP scheme to rakeback by emailing support.
It is also showing off the new version of its poker client, expected to launch this month.
The rebranded Revolution launched late last week. Peak player numbers from the weekend show the network has doubled in size thanks to the injection of Lock players.
