- At the London ICE conference which began on February 1, Harrie Temmink, speaking on behalf of the EU Commission, said that the Commission has no interest in introducing harmonized laws for the regulation of online gambling.
- “The EC is not working on harmonisation on sector-specific legislation in gambling,” Temminck told the ICE audience during a World Regulatory Briefing session. “The Commission is not proposing and will not propose it – not in my lifetime and not in the next one either.”

Temmink is the Deputy Head, Online and Postal Unit, DG Internal Market and Services and is the senior official with “hands-on” responsibility for the online gaming sector.
