Asian Spa Twitter Account Closed
The ever-popular Twitter account of anonymous personality “AsianSpa” was closed last week.
An exclusive interview with Bryan “The Icon” Micon, by Jeff Walsh of F5poker.com revealed that the person behind the AsianSpa account may soon be outed.
Micon urged the few people who are already aware of the identity to keep it a secret, but admitted that it’s likely only a matter of time before people are able to put a human face behind the actual account holder.
So far, the only revealing piece of information that has been confirmed is that AsianSpa is a male.
Choice Center Pros and Cons
Self-help has been in the headlines throughout the first week of the Series thanks to Daniel Negreanu’s glowing endorsement of the Choice Center.
However, poker pro Brian Rast isn’t so sure about how beneficial the controversial process is to poker players in general.
Rast explained the methods as a “crash course in psychology,” saying that “when you break people down and then build them back up, you essentially make them like emotionally dependent on that particular place.”
Rast added that he’s “not going to replace my family with Choice Center.” Daniel Negreanu offered his contradicting perspective on Choice Center following Rast’s comments.
Terrence Chan Returns to WSOP in Different Capacity
Former professional poker player and WSOP veteran Terrence Chan spoke briefly with Bluff Magazine about returning to the Series in his new role as Player Care Director for Ultimate Poker—a direct competitor of WSOP.com in Nevada and New Jersey.
In the interview, Chan expressed his respect for the World Series of Poker while explaining that his current work schedule will only allow him to participate in a limited amount of events.
To date, Chan has accrued 28 cashes in bracelet events since 2005 according to the Hendon Mob Database; including a runner-up performance in the 2007 $2,500 NLHE 6-max event for $287,345.
Lisandro vs. Cantu Shouting Match
Rio security teams intervened in a shouting match between Jeff Lisandro and Brandon Cantu over alleged gambling debts that the latter has incurred due to a gambling problem.
Lisandro told Bluff Magazine’s Thomas Keeling that “the gambling world’s tough. If you want to gamble, you’ve gotta have the money.” Lisandro vouched for Cantu and said that he wishes Cantu “all the best.”
