2022 is getting off to a hot start in PA’s online poker scene as WSOP PA is kicking things off with the first Online Circuit event of 2022. The 12-event series starts on January 5 and has more than half a million in prize money across the series.
It represents only the second Circuit Series event held by the WSOP in the Pennsylvania online poker market since it opened its doors in July last year. Total guarantees are down fractionally on the series held in September, but there should still be significant value to be had by players.
There is a total of $535,000 guaranteed across the 12 tournaments. The series culminates on January 16 with the Main Event, promising a prize pool of at least $100,000 for a cost of $525.
The schedule also features one pot-limit Omaha game and one No Limit Hold’em (NLH) freezeout game. The rest of the series is made up of rebuy events mixed between progressive knockout (PKO) and standard formats. One standout is Event #5, branded the Sunday Special, on January 9. It has a guarantee of $75,000 and a buy-in of just $215.

Twelve WSOP Circuit Rings on Offer
WSOP PA is getting off to a running start in 2022. Beginning Jan 5, the second-place operator in PA in terms of revenue is handing out WSOP Circuit rings to PA online poker players, with a total of twelve rings up for grabs between Jan 5 and Jan 16.
The action kicks off on Jan 5 with the $40,000 Guaranteed PKO NLH 2X Re-entry. With a buy-in of $215 — $200 of which goes to the prize pool — the event will need to see at least 200 entries to hit the guarantee, which means the opening event is actually tied with Event #2 for the 4th best value in the series.
The series is not all about the NLH players, however. Fans of the four-card game will get their chance at a ring as well, with Event #8, $25,000 PLO 3X Re-entry, which has a buy-in of $500. There is also a $25,000 guaranteed Freezeout game for Event #6 to cater to fans of old-school one-and-done poker.
Slightly Smaller than First Circuit Event
This is the second Online Circuit event for PA online poker players, and it is a little bit smaller than the inaugural edition of the series. Back in September, WSOP Pennsylvania put on the first-ever Online Circuit event in PA with $630,000 total guaranteed.
That turned out to be a bit overly optimistic, with pokerfuse reporting around 10% overlay with just a few tournaments left in the series. That resulting overlay likely explains the somewhat lower overall guarantee this time of $535k.
Many of the guarantees compare favorably with the September series, though. Both series feature a Main Event touting a guaranteed $100,000 for $525, and both also feature a $75,000 event for $215. One notable difference comes in the opening events — $50,000 guaranteed in Sep versus $40,000 for the upcoming Jan series.
While the weather outside may be frightful, the rings at WSOP PA will be delightful this January. See below for a full schedule of the upcoming events to plan your shot at a WSOP Circuit ring.
