GGPoker is Sending Over 1100 Players to the WSOP 2024 Main Event GGPoker is Sending Over 1100 Players to the WSOP 2024 Main Event

GGPoker has well exceeded the number of players it hoped to qualify to play in the world’s largest live poker tournament, the WSOP 2024 Main Event.

GGPoker will send exactly 1,124 players to Las Vegas, setting a new record for the number of qualifiers from the operator. Last year, GGPoker qualified 744 players for the record-breaking Main Event.

“We are proud to be sending over 1,100 players to this year’s WSOP Main Event and it is further evidence of the strong partnership shared by GGPoker and WSOP,” said Paul Burke, Head of Public Relations at GGPoker in a press release.

“The GGPoker players landing in Las Vegas this week will bring a unique blend of enthusiasm and competitive spirit to the WSOP tables, and I expect that some of them will be still in the mix at the final table!”

Precisely, 791 players successfully won their seats through GGPoker’s popular Road to Vegas promotion this year, which kicked off in March. GGPoker, the official international partner of the WSOP, has been sending hundreds of players to the event annually via its Road to Vegas satellite campaign.

The campaign, now in its fourth consecutive year, kicked off in March with qualifiers starting as low as $1.

According to GGPoker’s breakdown, 732 out of the 791 players won their seats through satellites on the GGPoker dot-com network. An additional 59 players qualified through the segregated GGPoker Ontario room, which serves Canada’s largest province in partnership with WSOP.

Furthermore, 233 players bought into the Main Event directly on the GGPoker platform, while another 100 players qualified through ClubGG, GGPoker’s subscription-based online poker platform.

As seen last year, each and every qualifier is eligible to receive an additional $1 million bonus on top of the millions they are expected to win from the first-place prize. Two years ago, Espen Jorstad of Norway, won the WSOP Main Event and he won his way through a $1050 buy-in satellite on GGPoker. He bested a field of 8663 runners to win a life-changing $10 million in prize money. Unfortunately for him, GGPoker did not offer this bonus that year.

Over $11 Million Worth of Prize Pool

Each package won on GGPoker is worth $12,000 and not only includes a seat to the Main Event but also offers $1000 towards accommodation, $1000 for travel expenses, access to the GGPoker Platinum Lounge, and GGPoker/WSOP branded merchandise and gifts.

This means that GGPoker this year dished out $9,492,000 via its Road to Vegas packages while its sister platform ClubGG distributed $1.2 million.

With each seat valued at $10,000 (and considering the number of players who bought in directly on the platform), the 2024 WSOP Main Event has already secured $11.24 million in prize money.

It is well over the figure what the operator promised to send to the 2024 WSOP Main Event at the start of the year when the WSOP schedule was announced in February. GGPoker had pledged to send at least 1,000 players through its various platforms in multiple markets.

This marks the fourth consecutive year of GGPoker’s campaign. In 2021, the operator qualified over 250 players through its real-money platform and ClubGG, followed by 312 players in 2022 and 774 players last year.

The WSOP 2024 Main Event will run from July 3 through 17, featuring four starting flights from July 3 to 6. Last year, the Main Event attracted a record-breaking 10,043 players, creating a prize pool of over $93 million. This year, expectations are high, with estimates predicting 11,000 entrants, potentially breaking last year’s record.
