The World Series of Poker (running from May 31 to July 18 at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas) has launched a new online registration process, which is now open, where credit card payments will be accepted.
The new system has been designed to streamline the registration process for players once they are at the event so that they can avoid visiting the registration cage—and the potential for waiting in long lines—once in the casino. The announcement soon after the recent developments and changes designed to improve the WSOP media exposure.
Credit Cards Now Accepted
Credit cards can now be used to buy into WSOP events ($1500 and under, including Daily Deepstacks and satellite events) but players must register at least 72 hours in advance the first time that they intend to pay by credit card. There is no waiting period for subsequent online registrations.
A $3 processing fee will be added to all online registrations. In addition, payments via credit card will incur a 2.95% fee. These additional fees go towards payment processing and are not paid to the Rio or the WSOP.
It is worth noting that credit cards will still not be allowed for live on-site registration.
WSOP Fast Track Kiosks
Once online registration is complete and players have arrived at the casino, they will be invited to head to the Rio Convention Centre “Rotunda Area” Fast Pass Total Rewards Desk one hour prior to their event’s start, to show proof of identification.
The credit card used for online registration will also need to be bought to the Desk.
After players have been verified at the Rewards Desk, they can then utilize the new “WSOP Fast Track Kiosks”—a new edition that replicates the online boarding pass system implemented by airports—to print seat cards and receipts for any future online registrations.
The Fast Track Kiosks will be set up in designated points around the Rio with dedicated staff members on hand to help anyone with queries.
For those who still like register in person, registration will open at main casino cage on May 31 at 9am. The cage will be open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Having partnered with Bravo Poker Live registration for the WSOP will be via the Bravo Poker website and will require players to do a “one-time-sign-up” on that site. A Caesars Total Rewards Card will also be required for those looking to register online.
