888 has extended its mobile offering by recently launching an app for iPad. An iPhone version is promised soon.
The iOS additions complement the Android application, released back in February. It is listed as “888Poker mobile HD” in Apple’s UK app store, although it is not clear if it is listed on other sites.
Since the introduction of 888 Mobile, the platform has been expanded with the addition of SNG support. The feature is available on both the iPad and Android. The player pool is the same as 888’s main network, which is the fourth largest network internationally. It also operates the second largest player pool in Spain, although mobile apps in Spain are not yet available.
Unlike PokerStars Mobile, which looks to replicate nearly all the features available in the desktop client, the 888 interpretation is a much simpler affair: There is no lobby in the client, only “quick seat” options, and there is no multi-tabling support. Only Hold’em games are currently available.
