According to the Chip Split affiliate site, the Aced Poker poker client will be updated to CarbonPoker when players next attempt to log in.
Aced players will also have access to Carbon’s Sportsbook and racing modules.
The closure of Aced Poker marks the departure of yet another online poker site from the Merge Gaming Network which has suffered the loss of a considerable number of skins in recent years.
A total of four skins left the network during Q4 2012, including FeltStars, Black Chip Poker, RPM Poker, and Hero Poker. Three months ago, PokerHost left Merge for the Equity Poker Network (EPN).
Although Merge has managed to maintain its cash game traffic levels over the past year, it is still reeling from those late 2012 exits. According to data on pokerfuse PRO provided by PokerScout.com, the Merge Gaming Network has lost more than half of its cash game traffic since June 2012.
Despite the hiccups, Merge still holds a strong position within its market of online poker sites that operate internationally and accept players from most US states. The network’s main skins include CarbonPoker and PlayersOnly.
