PokerStars is offering half-price entry to some of its most prestigious tournaments, across its entire US network this Sunday, July 18. Players on PokerStars Pennsylvania, PokerStars NJ, and PokerStars Michigan can access some of the weekend’s biggest events at 50% of their usual price.
The guaranteed prize pools are the same as usual, only the entry fee is reduced—providing players with a great opportunity to grab some cracking value.
The popular promo has become a regular feature on Stars over recent years, but this is the first time that Michiganders have been able to get in on the deal since PokerStars went live there at the end of January this year.

It will be interesting to see how the downsized buy-ins affect field sizes. PokerStars will be keen to attract players ahead of an important few months. Online poker is opening up in the US, with rivals launching new rooms and more states likely to legalize the game soon.
Live events are also making a tentative comeback after 18 months of lockdown, with the World Series just around the corner. All these factors are sure to have an impact on PokerStars’ operations in the US.
Half Price Sunday in Pennsylvania
Satellites are running for the special edition tournaments, although the lower prices make it easier to buy straight in, with entry to the Sunday Storm a nominal $5. Even the Half Price Sunday Special— with a whopping $75,000 guaranteed —has a very affordable $50 price tag.
In fact, four out of five of the reduced fee events have buy-ins of $50 or under, with the exception being the $125 High Roller, which carries a prize pool of $15,000. The total combined guarantee of these half price specials is a mouth-watering $105,000.
