WSOP Online Championships Returns for the Summer with $5.5M in Guarantees WSOP Online Championships Returns for the Summer with $5.5M in Guarantees

We are entering a very active period for poker, with the 2025 WSOP kicking off in Las Vegas and the online bracelet series with 30 distinct events running alongside it. However, if all that is not enough, WSOP Online has announced yet another series to keep you busy — the WSOP Online Championships.

Running for six weeks straight, from June 1 to July 13, the online series comes with 172 tournaments and a guaranteed prize pool of $5,500,000, so there is plenty of reason to get involved.

It is worth noting that we expected a bit higher guarantee for this year’s Championships, seeing how this is the first time in history that players from all four states will get to play together on the WSOP Online platform. For comparison, last year, the Championships was announced with the same guarantee, which was later bumped to $6 million, with a couple of dozen events added to the original schedule.

It’s possible the operator will do something similar this year as well, depending on the interest, but either way, it is a respectable online series that provides additional options for all tournament fans out there.

WSOP Online Championships Highlights

As mentioned, the series runs June 1 — July 13, featuring 172 tournaments. No Limit Texas Hold’em is the most represented variation, but there are a fair few events for Pot Limit Omaha lovers added to the mix as well.

Buy-ins start at $20 on the lower end and go up to $1,000. A majority of the action will take place in the $20 – $109 bracket, while the Main Event is priced at $500, offering a guarantee of $300,000 and the Championships Belt for the winner.

The full series schedule is available on the revamped WSOP Online page, but as far as value-for-money events are concerned, these are some of our top picks:

  • June 1 — Event #5 – $55 NLH Mystery Bounty ($30,000 GTD)
  • June 1 (and every Sunday) – $215 Sunday Major ($150,000 GTD)
  • June 5 (and every Thursday until the end) — Event #20 $100 NLH Mystery Bounty ($40,000 GTD)
  • June 9 — Event #35 — $33 NLH PKO ($10,000 GTD)
  • June 15 — Event #60 – $50 NLH Player Appreciation Tournament ($50,000 GTD)
  • July 1 — Event #125 – $88 NLH PKO Turbo ($15,000 GTD)
  • July 13 – Event #71 — $50 Mini Main Event ($50,000 GTD)

A Champion’s Belt Worth Chasing

In addition to what’s likely to be a rather hefty first-place cash prize, the 2025 WSOP Online Championships Main Event features the Championships Belt for the ultimate winner.

For many players, this alone is worth getting involved to try and get their hands on a cool keepsake to remind them of their big day on the virtual felt. While it may not have the same prestige as bracelets and rings, it is certainly different and unique, as there aren’t many opportunities to get your hands on one of these.

The price tag of $500 for the Main Event is on the higher side, but luckily there will be many different qualifiers running around the clock on the site giving you a chance to win your seat starting from just a few bucks.

All in all, if you still don’t have an account with WSOP.com and you love poker tournaments, this is probably the best time to sign up and get in on the grind, as you’ll be able to get as much action as you can possibly handle!
