Players are organizing yet another “sit-out” to protest the recent rake changes made by PartyPoker. The demonstration is scheduled to begin September 15, at 00:00 EDT (UTC-4). During that time protesters will attempt to occupy seats at “every possible table” and refuse to play.
Last month, players organized a protest after PartyPoker announced changes to its rake structure and method of calculating the amount of rake assigned to a player, both of which would have had a negative impact to the bottom line of many players. As a result, Party chose not to implement the planned changes to the rake structure, but they did proceed with the change to the method of calculation.
In addition to the sit-out, an email writing campaign is scheduled for September 14th.
