“The Road to 100 Billion,” PokerStars’ long-running promotion celebrating 100 billion hands dealt at the poker room, has entered into the final stretch.
On Saturday, the first of 300 milestones was reached at hand number 99,700,000. Participants in each 1 millionth hand leading up to the big one will be awarded cash prizes.
PokerStars is giving away $2 million dollars for the milestone hands: $1 million on the hand #100,000,00, and $1 million in the 299 milestone hands leading up to it. The winner of the big one will get at least $100,000, with the rest of the money awarded to players active at that game and stake at the time it is hit.
Another $3 million is being given away in a mix of promotions this month, including a record-breaking tournament, a $1 million Zoom tournament, a $1 million freeroll, and a “golden SNGs” promotion.
Approximately 50 milestones will be hit each day this week, and the key hand should be reached by Friday. Online cash game traffic can be expected to increase 30% during this period as the key hand approaches.
