Winning Poker Network (WPN) will be observing the anniversary of Black Friday the best way it knows how: By Holding a guaranteed MTT on April 15 called the Liberty Weekend $250,000.
According to the PR, the MTT will be the largest guaranteed of the year among all the remaining poker networks that continue to service US players.
The network formally known as Yatahay is best recognized through the brands of TruePoker, its flatship poker room, and the recently relaunched America’s Cardroom.
The large guarantee is impressive considering the Network’s small stature among its rivals. Although it has grown significantly in the last year, it still ranks below all other major US-facing networks, including Merge, Bodog, Cake and Chico (formerly Action Poker Network).
Yatahay/Winning was unaffected by the events of April 15 when—few of our readers will need to be reminded—the US Department of Justice targeted the three largest poker networks and forced them out of the US market.
It will be interesting to see if Yatahay remembers May 23—Blue Monday—in a similar fashion. In Round 2 of DOJ indictments, Yatahay did not escape unaffected: the domains of four of its seven skins—including TruePoker.com and DoylesRoom.com— were seized.
