According to provincial regulators, Ontarians wagered a whopping CAD $6 billion (USD $4.3 billion) on online poker, casino games, and sports betting between July 1 and September 30.
iGaming Ontario (iGO) reported Wednesday that operators made a collective CAD $267 million (USD $193.5 million) in the third quarter of the year, which iGO refers to Q2 of the fiscal year (FY). That marked a 65% increase from the prior quarter, when igaming revenue totaled CAD $162 million, valued at USD $123.4 million.
The number of operators grew to 24 in Q3, up from 18 in the previous quarter. The number of gaming websites also increased, reaching 42 in the last quarter, up from 31.
The iGO also reported that the number of active player accounts totaled 628,000, a more than 27% increase from the preceding quarter (492,000). The average monthly spend per active player account also increased to CAD $142 (USD $102), an uptick of over 25% quarter-to-quarter.
