The full WSOP 2024 schedule should be released within the next week.
Master of the WSOP universe Kevmath has said on social media that the announcement will be made by Valentine’s day, February 14. This means this there is just around a week to go before players can start making plans to attend the 55th edition of this iconic poker tournament.
Players have been asking for the schedule since January, with the World Series of Poker directly commenting on social media that the schedule is coming soon. For most, the month wait has been too long — as players need to often plan their schedules well ahead of time in order to make coming to Las Vegas a reality.
And as far back as December, the WSOP has been teasing details, yet nothing concrete apart from a few teasers has really been announced.
“It’s time to turn the page and begin the countdown to 2024,” Ty Stewart, SVP and Executive Director of the World Series of Poker, said via press release back in December. “Records are made to be broken. We’re busy on improvements to make sure 2024 is both the biggest and best event in poker history. Mark your calendars and bank those vacation days. We’ll see you in Vegas.”
What we know for sure is that:
- The WSOP will return May 28 to July 17 at the Horseshoe and Paris Casino Las Vegas
- The Main Event will run July 3 to July 17
- In addition to the Main Event, Mystery Millions, Millionaire Maker and Seniors Championship all return, but dates are to be confirmed.
- Although not announced a Casino Employees Event kicks off every WSOP, so is almost guaranteed for 2024.
In addition, promotions are currently running in US markets giving away Main Event seats. The WSOP are encouraging players to deposit with code WIN2024
where players will receive a tournament ticket for an exclusive freeroll on February 29 that awards the winner with a Main Event seat.
Whilst information is thin on the ground, we can make some predictions on what we think the 2024 series will look like. With the 2023 World Series of Poker the biggest in history in terms of turnout and prize pool: over $425 million was paid out, over 250K players joined the action via online and live events — WSOP organizers will hope this year is bigger than ever.
Between 95 to 100 live bracelet events will be expected this summer. The Gladiators of Poker will likely be on the schedule as well since the one in 2023 attracted over 23,000 entries and awarded half a million to the winner, plus schedule staples such as the $1,500 Monster Stack and $400 Colossus should be making a return.
In addition we expect there to be a companion US online series that will run in the markets of Nevada, New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Hopefully by the summer WSOP Michigan will be on a shared network with Nevada and New Jersey — meaning all players will be in the same player-pool, but this still remains up in the air. Mystery Bounty tournaments are also expected to run in these US markets.
Online paths to qualify for the WSOP 2024 Main Event will be expected in the US plus on GGPoker who acts as the global partner for the WSOP, offering packages in rest-of-world markets. A comprehensive streaming schedule will also be expected from PokerGO who previously have partnered with the WSOP offering unbeatable coverage of the Main Event and beyond.
Players will no doubt be encouraged to use the new WSOP+ app that has been created to make attending live events as streamlined as possible. By downloading the app, players have access to: real-time WSOP information, WSOP push notifications, will be able to see a live tournament clock plus has capacity to also players to register for tournaments from their phone.
