888poker, one of the leading online poker operators worldwide, is bringing back its popular Millions Superstorm promotion for its third edition.
As part of the promotion, the operator will be running a tournament series guaranteeing over $2 million in prize money — half of which has been earmarked to the Main Event.
The series kicks off on February 13 and runs until March 8, when the final table of the Main Event will take place.
This will be the second time the Millions Superstorm will run in the form of a tournament series and the third time as a promotional campaign. The inaugural edition ran two years ago in which players were tasked with completing simple daily challenges. All challenges, freerolls, and wheel spins ultimately funneled players to the Millions Superstorm, a multi-flight guaranteed tournament with a $1 million guaranteed prize pool.
The second edition returned eight months later with the same promotional mechanism but was also supported with an $8 million-guaranteed tournament series — one of the biggest 888 ran in its history.
This time around, there are no daily challenges, but instead, there is a three-week-long tournament festival promising $2 million in prize pools. Compared to the previous edition, the number of events is significantly lower. In fact, the Millions SuperStorm will only see two major tournaments happen each week, along with a daily $15k guaranteed PKO tournament thus totaling just 30 events.
However, a majority of the events will be structured as multi-flights featuring plenty of Day 1s.
Players will have a chance to play Millions SuperStorm events for as low as $15, when it comes to direct buy-ins, while a host of satellite tournaments with even lower buy-ins and even freeroll satellites will also be available for those with smaller bankrolls.
Buy-ins for the multi-phase events range from $11 to $109 in the first week, $33 to $215 in the second, and $55 to $1050 (Main Event) in the final week.
The promotion coincides with 888’s 20th year anniversary, which will be celebrated throughout the whole year, the operator states. To mark the occasion, the operator signed champion boxer, Chris Eubank Jr. as its new cultural ambassador.
In The Eye of the Storm
Coming hot on the heels of the recently finished XL Winter Series, which saw players take home more than $2 million in prizes, the Millions SuperStorm will give 888poker tournament players a new reason to be excited.
The series kicks off this Sunday and will see Daily Millions $55 PKO events with a $15k guarantee and Day 1s of the weekly Main Events take place every evening in addition to the regular 888poker tournament schedule.
It is worth noting that the majority of 888poker tournaments were part of Millions SuperStorm during the series that ran in September 2020, which accounted for more than 480 events and $8 million in guarantees given away in the inaugural series.
This time, only a handful of the biggest events will carry the name Millions SuperStorm on them, including the massive $1,000,000 guaranteed Main Event. The average guarantee per event stands at approximately $70,000.
On top of that Day 1 flights of the weekly Main Events will run each day of the week, with Sundays reserved for Day 2 of those weekly events.

The Millions SuperStorm Main Event will have Day 1 flights running from February 27, with satellite tournaments for the big event starting with the first day of the series. Players will even have an opportunity to win their $1,050 seat for free by playing in the daily freeroll satellites.
Players and fans of the game will also have an opportunity to watch the most exciting moments of the series on the 888pokerTV channel on Twitch, with Event #1, Event #2, and the Main Event having their final tables live-streamed on the popular streaming platform.
888poker will also be giving away free tickets for upcoming events during these streams, adding extra incentive to watch the live action. Entry to special 888poker freerolls will also be possible to those who watch, with entry passwords given out during the streams.
