The inaugural WPT Global real money series, aptly named the Summer Festival, is now officially over. Lasting for almost six whole weeks, the series awarded $3.5 million in guaranteed prizes across many major events, accompanied by numerous smaller tournaments scattered across the rich schedule.
The past weekend saw the culmination of the Summer Festival as players gathered for Day 2 of the $1,000,000 guaranteed Main Event.
With this tournament, WPT Global closed its first-ever online series in style, with several players taking home five and six-figure amounts.

Exciting Finish to a Great Series
On Saturday, August 20, 480 players returned to the virtual felt for the Day 2 action of the $330 Main Event. 20% of the field from each Day 1 flight qualified for Day 2, leading us to conclude the total number of entries for the tournament was around 2,400. Given the operator’s fairly recent launch date, this is a very respectable number.
The tournament had a seven-figure guarantee, so there was some overlay, in the end, creating a fair bit of value for those players who made it into Day 2.
Of the 480 who made it through the initial flight, only 80 went home empty-handed. Everyone else was guaranteed at least $600 for their efforts — almost twice the buy-in amount. But, like in every tournament, big money was reserved for the final table, which took place on Monday, August 22.
At the very least, everybody making it to the eight-handed final table was guaranteed $14,000. The winner and the runner-up banked six-figure amounts, taking home $190,000 and $100,500, respectively.
With the Main Event wrapping up on Monday, the WPT Global Summer Festival was officially over, but there are more exciting things to come soon.
