Genting Poker, one of the many poker rooms on the iPoker network, announced this week that players from Canada and a variety of European countries – including Spain, Germany, Portugal and Russia – will no longer be welcome to play.
The reason for the abrupt departure – the other Euro countries include Austria, Belgium, Greece, Norway and Poland – is unclear, other than an “interpretation” of their licensing agreement, according to Poker Affiliate Solutions. There is no indication of any other changes among the iPoker skins.
UK-based Genting Casinos holds licenses in Alderney for its five online gambling sites. The group made headlines recently with the signing of the Hendon Mob, the Brit group of players who just days before severed ties with the defunct Full Tilt Poker.
