The iPoker network has announced changes to the rake at fixed limit tables, reducing both the percentage taken from the pot and the rake cap.
According to the new rake table published on PokerStrategy.com, effective rake has been reduced from 5% to 4% for stakes up to $20/40, any reduced even more at the higher levels. Although a $1 cap is still in place at small- and mid-stakes, it has reduced significantly at the micro-stakes, and the $5 rake cap at the high stakes has been reduced to $4.
The rake levels are still higher than the “US-style” – maintained at PokerStars – with a 50c rake cap at all levels, but the move is competitive amongst the European poker rooms and comes as welcome news to iPoker players. The changes follows the announcement from rival PartyPoker over the weekend of a double-points promotion for fixed-limit games during the first half of October.
