Troubled network Revolution Gaming has introduced major changes to its Sit and Go (SNG) structures.
The changes were announced by leading skin Intertops in a post on 2+2. Intertops operates a separate player pool for cash game traffic but shares SNGs with the rest of Revolution.
The major shift is from 10 player to 9 player tables, although some more popular 10 player formats, such as the Double or Nothing tables, have been continued on a trial basis.
Rake changes form the centerpiece of the new strategy. Almost all SNGs now have a “rounded” value for the combined buy-in and fee: for example, a structure of $5 + $0.50 has become $4.60 + $0.40. The new standard buy-in amounts will be: $1.50, $3.50, $5, $10, $15, $30, $60 and up.
Revolution Gaming has seen traffic collapse over the last year. But the departure of Lock Poker and the new ownership of Juicy Stakes—both of which had in the past had a terrible cash out record—may reinvigorate the network.
Intertops, the first ever internet gambling site, segregated its entire cash game player pool from the rest of Revolution over a year ago. Following Juicy’s acquisition the pair combined pools, and now they are seeking to reintegrate it with other skins on the network.
The SNG changes may herald more changes to come as Revolution Gaming attempts to rebuild itself.
