- The regulated online poker market in Ontario is larger than that of Michigan and Pennsylvania, the latest cash game traffic figures reveal.
- The market still has to contend with online poker rooms not yet licensed in Ontario, and thus not reflected in these figures.
- PokerStars Ontario was late to the market, but it was early with the promotions.
The latest cash game traffic figures reveal that the regulated Ontario online poker market is larger than that of Michigan and Pennsylvania. It is also higher than historical figures seen from the combined New Jersey-Nevada-Delaware networks.
According to numbers tracked by GameIntel — which monitors the cash game traffic at regulated online poker rooms worldwide and is available only on the PRO Data platform — the three online poker rooms in Ontario currently average 427 concurrent cash game seats combined.
PokerStars Ontario leads the pack, with just over 200 concurrent seats, but BetMGM Poker Ontario has remained resilient, staying close on its tail with 186 seats on average over the last week. 888poker Ontario brings up the rear, with 37 seats, but that is still a solid return to growth after a much lower period in June.
