The Portuguese gaming regulator SRIJ has issued its third license for online poker to local group Estoril Sol Digital through its ESC Online brand.
The stamp of approval, first reported by Portuguese consumer site PokerPT, gives ECS Online authorization to offer poker in Hold’em and Omaha variants, in both cash games and tournaments.
The license is dated November 26, 2021. It is only the third license for online poker in the country after PokerStars and 888poker.
Estoril Sol Group, a leading brick and mortar casino operator, owns three of the dozen licensed casinos across Portugal in Estoril, Lisbon and Povoa de Varzim. It has been operating for over five decades and has ties with the late Hong Kong-Macau gambling tycoon Stanley Ho.
