Playtech, operator of the iPoker Network, has denied the claim made by Moore Games that it holds player balances for the recently-suspended iPoker skin.
“Playtech/iPoker NEVER holds players’ funds on its side,” stated Roei Gavish, Head of Poker at Playtech, in a statement to pokerfuse. “Payment systems are in the licensee’s domain. We’re making the efforts to audit our partners and ensure that players’ funds are safe, but it’s not in our direct possession.”
Gavish also stated that Moore games was suspended from network “due to material breach of the network policy.”
The statement today is in direct contrast to the assertion made by Moore Games CEO Samir Mujagic, who told pokerfuse just days ago, “Playtech holds the players funds” and that “We never broke Playtech’s T&Cs.”
Cashouts from the Moore poker room have been halted, but Moore has confirmed that the casino and sportsbook accounts are still operational and cashouts are functioning. Players are reporting that they can transfer their poker room balances to a Moore casino account and use it to gamble and withdraw winnings, but the original amount transferred from poker cannot be withdrawn.
The Swedish-based online poker room went offline over a week ago as a result of a suspension of services from the network operator. Moore Games has made repeated claims that no explanation was provided as to why the network services had been interrupted.
