Last week we quietly launched a new section of pokerfuse.com – the poker podcasts directory. The goal is to bring together all the best poker-related podcasts on the 'net under one roof. You can view the latest episodes of all the major poker shows, play and download the mp3s in one click, go to the creator’s website and browse the archives – all from one place.
There’s some fantastic content out there – from the latest news commentary from Mike and Adam, to the unchecked speculation and prank calling of donkdown and the oddball whimsy of Chuck and Joe – but for many, podcasts can be clumsy and hard to use. You’re either wrangling with some quirky media player on a website, getting your head around RSS feeds, or finding yourself flummoxed trying to work out how to download the mp3 file. And actually keeping up with irregular podcast schedules is a whole new issue.
We want to fix that. From the main page, it’s easy to see what’s new, so you’ll never miss the latest show. Every podcast has the same player, and you can click to pop out the player if you want to continue browsing. One click to download the mp3 and you can stick it on your ipod or listen to it in your car.
The new directory will benefit both the producers and their listeners. Along with our goals of featuring the latest and greatest episodes throughout the site, we’ll be bringing the concept of poker podcasts to a much greater audience, and reducing the tech-barrier of entry means everyone can listen in, browse old episodes, and visit the show’s website to find out more.
