“By voluntarily self-excluding oneself, they are barred from entering any gaming establishment or partaking in any gambling activity in New York State, including sports wagering.” Regulators in New York and other state officials announced the launch of a new Voluntary Self-Exclusion (VSE) Program for individuals who believe they may have a gambling problem.

The Responsible Play Partnership (RPP) — which includes the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC), the New York Council on Problem Gambling (NYCPG), and the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) — said the VSE would allow “individuals to ban themselves from gambling activities, can be an effective tool at reducing the harm caused by problem gambling.
