Poker Media Picks Pokerstars' “Greatest Ever” Hand

While the public still has time to get their votes in, the ballots from the media have been cast and tallied in favor of Jason Mercier’s sick call with bottom pair at the 2008 EPT San Remo. It was just the beginning of a meteoric rise for the then young online professional and, at the time, it led to his first live victory and his first ever live cash.

As a part of the PokerStars 100 Billion Hands celebrations both the public and members of the poker media were asked to watch and select their favorite televised hand in PokerStars history from a pre-compiled short list of classic confrontations. One hand will then be selected for the Zoom & Boom! promotion.

The runner-up media selection was a popular hand from the short-lived PokerStars Big Game TV show where 13 time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth and an amateur run a board out 4 times, only to see the Poker Brat lose 3 as a heavy favorite.

The deadline for public voting is June 10.
